This won a Newbery award in the '70s, but it is not a book for the ages. You could make a pretty rowdy drinking game out of this book, if you drank whenever David, the father, known by his first name, smiles "ruefully" to indicate that he knows that even though he is an adult he has not got all the answers, or whenever Jen, one of the POV characters, speaks "drily"/5(7). INTERMEDIATE, DOUBLE-STRUNG HARP. This book, meticulously crafted by Beth Kollé and Laurie Riley, is filled with short exercises and excellent descriptions and drawings. Even though this book assumes the reader is a beginner, it does not cover note-reading. Some can vibrate the harpstrings with his fingers very well and loudly before other men, touching the mirth-wood. Some can reckon aright the laws of the people of God. Some can tell of the mysterious orbit of the stars, the broad creation. Some can craftily write statements of words. To some he grants success in warfare in their battles.
